Ali has 20+ years of experience working and teaching at some of the world's finest (and not so fine) institutions: UC Berkeley (world's #1 public university), Cravath, Swaine & Moore (world's #1 ranked law firm), NYU Law School (top 10 law schools in the US), In-N-Out (world's best burger chain!), among others.

In his professional career as a lawyer, Ali has advised on and managed teams executing M&A, investments, secured and unsecured financings, and other complex corporate transactions. His clients have included the NBA, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Apple, Salesforce, and others.

During the pandemic, Ali served as chief of staff to the executive leadership team at The Clorox Company, and helped steer Clorox's response to an international health emergency by simultaneously increasing production of disinfecting products to unprecedented levels while helping protect employees' health & safety at Clorox's global production facilities. At the same time, Ali co-founded a nation-wide job searching program to help low-income lawyers and law students who had lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

In 2021, Ali was recognized by Diversity MBA Magazine as a Top 100 under 50 Executive & Emerging Leader in Corporate America, for both his professional and his philanthropic work.

Ali holds dual degrees in Philosophy and Political Economy from UC Berkeley, where he has also taught, and a juris doctorate from the New York University School of Law, where he served on the Law Review and as President of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association.

Ali’s writings, on law, life and leadership, have been published in The Los Angeles Times, Diplomatic Courier, The Journal of Law & Commerce, and Middle East Policy, among others, and he has appeared on BBC and other live and recorded interviews, programs and podcasts.

In his volunteer capacity, Ali has served as Commissioner of National Engagement for Iranian American Bar Association, overseeing its community, engagement and outreach efforts. Ali has also held positions at the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and is a four-time recipient of The State Bar of California’s Wiley Manuel Certificate (awarded to lawyers exemplifying pro bono service).
